VR JAM? HUH ?
You don't need us to tell you that VR is on fire right now. It's one of the fastest growing new technologies, and one that's been forecasted for decades. We don't have jetpacks and space travel yet, but we sure as hell can pretend that we do in VR.
We at Junction are probably more excited about VR than almost anyone. So we decided to make it a flagship track at this year's hackathon and also do a free and open VR Jam in Reykjavik to help new developers get started in VR and experienced VR developers get the time, space and mentoring from experts to build something cool.
This is no PPT-filled marketing snoozefest. At Junction, we're all about building cool new things, and that's exactly what the VR Jam is meant for. If you build something cool enough, you get to the stage of Slush PLAY!

When?
9AM on September 28 to 6pm on September 29, 2016.
Everyone gets Slush PLAY tickets and best projects will be demo'd on stage at Slush PLAY.
How much?
It's 100% free. That seems suspicious, doesn't it?
But yeah, we'll handle the food and hack area. Just build something cool.

Besides its astonishing nature, infamous volcanoes, worth-to-see glaciers, Iceland has become the cradle for VR development.
Who's Building This?
SO WHAT'S JUNCTION?
Junction is a mega hackathon, with 1.5k developers, designers, and entrepreneurs from 30+ countries. It's held on November 25th-27th this year, in Helsinki. Attendance is free, and we even throw in travel reimbursements. There's 10 tracks, with themes ranging from VR to data-driven economy, Fintech to IoT Magic and much more.
We've partnered with global giants like Oculus, Supercell, Microsoft, Zalando, Nokia and also up-and-coming startups from all over the world to provide you free access to amazing API's and hardware.

WHAT ABOUT SLUSH PLAY?
Slush PLAY will be held for the second time at Austurbær in Reykjavik, Iceland. On September 29–30, VR experts and enthusiasts from all over the world will gather to explore the newest trends in VR and gaming. Investors will have the chance to arrange one-on-one meetings with startups to the meeting area already prior to the event. Icelandic Startups and Slush will join forces to create an unforgettable meetup for the leading minds in the field.
